‘The Voice’ coaches blown away by 15-year-old’s blind audition

The voice season 23 showcases jaw-dropping talent!

NBC has shared a preview of Monday’s episode of the Singing Contest Friday, featuring a blind audition from 15-year-old Ryley Tate Wilson, who gets a 4-chair round for her performance of “Dancing on My Own by Robyn.

Kelly Clarkson is the first to turn her chair, followed quickly by Niall Horan, but all four coaches are impressed with Ryley, and shocked to learn of his age.

“I didn’t hear anything after 3 pm!” exclaims Kelly. “You are 15 and you talk like that?

Niall praises Ryley for keeping his nerves in check, recalling his audition for The X Factor at a similar age. “It was the best audition we’ve heard, by far,” he marvels.

Chance the Rapper shares with Ryley that he was impressed with his vocal performances, comparing him to more “experimental R&B” artists like Steve Lacy. “I would like to see what you could do in this space,” he says.

And of course, Blake Shelton is banking on the promise of his final season.

“You choose me as your coach, and I will stop coaching after this season,” he shares, laughing. “I’ll be leaving. I’ll be glad I had the chance to work with you, Ryley.”

ET spoke with the Season 23 coaches before the premiere, all of whom shared how excited they were to be on the show for the Cowboy’s final round.

“I texted her,” Kelly explained. “If he was going to do a final season, I wanted to make sure I was there.”

However, the talk show host insisted she wouldn’t let nostalgia get in the way of her competitive nature.

“Whether [Blake] wins, I’m very happy for him, because it’s so cool to win last season and he’s literally been the show, since his conception,” she conceded. earn. I’ll be happy for him if he does, but obviously I’m trying to earn myself.”

As for the show’s new coaches, Niall and Chance said they were ready to work against the Team Blake dynasty.

“That was awesome,” Chance said upon joining the show. “Kelly is very, very nice, very nice to me. And Blake is…here.”
