UPDATE: Meteorologist Alissa Carlson Schwartz posted on her Facebook page this afternoon. “Thank you for all the texts, calls and good wishes. I’m fine!” She gave no further details.
EARLIER: KCAL meteorologist Alissa Carlson Schwartz passed out on Saturday morning during a live television broadcast.
Schwartz was delivering weather as part of the 7 a.m. updates when it was hit. She began to lean forward, lost consciousness, and collapsed on the desk before she could even begin her report.
There was a slight delay before the show turned into a commercial. There have since been no updates on Carlson’s condition.
Carlson, a former Mrs. America contestant, suffers from heart disease. In 2014, during a weather report on another station, she vomited on set during a weather report. Subsequent tests discovered a leaking heart valve.
