Question 744 September 2011

Communicating the physical effect of an accident

We find that many of our employees have an inadequate understanding of the physical damage that various injury mechanisms can inflict (falls from height, electrical arcing, high pressure releases, entanglement in machinery, etc) and as a result the basis of their risk perception is incomplete.
We are considering the practicalities of producing an in-house DVD of such illustrations as part of our campaign to challenge risk perceptions.
Do any members have any experience of this approach that they could share?
