Question 725 March 2011

Replacing the word: Accident: implications..?

We are looking at changing our terminology, and instead of using the word 'accident' replacing it with injury or loss in order to focus more accurately on the outcome. Has anyone had experience of changing the wording, particularly internationally and what are the pitfalls and benefits of doing this. We would hate to introduce wording that could be offensive in some languages
