Question 703 August 2010

Business driving and corporate manslaughter - robust management policy

We have some 12,000 retail employees distributed across the UK any one of which could jump into their own car for a short "business" trip. Previous sheiiba debate does not appear to show any common policy concerning the use of private vehicles for business.

How are fellow members establishing a "robust" management policy?

What particularly are thought to be the minimum checking / training requirements to avoid prosecution under the Corporate Manslaughter & Corporate Homicide Act?
