Goggle use in production units; practices & policies

A company writes: "at our Chemical site in Hull we recently had a chemical contact with the eye. Although not serious it potentially could have been. As a result senior management wish to implement mandatory goggle wearing for all persons who access the production units. This covers all process personnel and trades including scaffolders, laggers etc.

Our policy to date has been the use of safety spectacles with addition protection (face shield and/or goggles) for specified activities.

Can I ask if you mandate the wearing of goggles in a similar way, if so how do you accommodate the needs of certain groups such as scaffolders (peripheral vision requirements etc). What are your eye protection policies for your operational units ?

Thank you for your assistance on this matter.
