Question 563 June 2007

Noise - matching frequency hearing protection

We work in a known environment where noise levels are regularly above the upper action level so hearing protection is mandatory.

We have recently received a number of job applicants who have existing common hearing impairments such as single ear or bilateral hearing loss or who wear unilateral or bilateral hearing aids.

Have any other members any experience in matching the correct frequency hearing protection to those with hearing aids or who have impairments?

Can anyone recommend commercial experts that may offer advice?
