Question 486 September 2006

Seasonal accidents: trends and causes

Do any organisations notice higher number of LTAs at certain times of the year?

We seem to, in July and November. This may be due to weather conditions and the type of work we do. It has been suggested that the hot weather makes it 'easier' to take time off after an accident.

Do you have any other examples that support/contradict this and any reasons to explain it?
