Over 65s - Medical Standards and Disabilty Issues

From October 2006 employees can, under age regulations, request to continue working beyond the age of 65.

Does any employer know if medical standards can be applied as a condition of the extension to work beyond 65?
What if the employee is likely to be considered to be disabled under the D D A will it be discriminatory not to continue to employ someone beyond 65?
