Question 378 August 2005

Employee Transport to casualty for post accident check

A member would be interested to hear from any company who have a policy of taking (or conversely not taking) people to casualty in company "pool cars" post accident (for non-emergency examination). Their current procedures allow for this following minor injuries which have been assessed by a first aider. However, they are currently considering this position as it appears to be open to abuse / civil action. Ambulances are called for serious injuries!
