Question 340 March 2005

Policy on Safety footwear other than Rigger Boots

Rigger boots are a popular type of safety footwear on our worksites. We are aware of one or two organisations moving away from rigger boots towards safety footwear with better ankle support and are considering a similar move based on our risk assessment.

Have any members introduced or considered introducing a policy to provide footwear other than rigger boots and is there any evidence of injury to support this?
