Question 133 July 2002

Tackling French system of extended leave

A member writes:

"In France it appears that an "injured" employee goes to their doctor who prescribes 2 weeks rest, or whatever. If they don't then the "injured" employee goes to another doctor who will.

It appears that the French social system supports and almost encourages such an approach.

However, I assume some companies must have tackled and hopefully solved the French system. I would be interested to learn how."
