Water Testing for Legionella

A member (offshore oil producer) writes: "We currently sample offshore accommodation water systems for legionella every six months. Samples are taken from various points on the system. The sample is taken immediately the tap etc. is turned on. We note BS 7592:1992 recommends this and a post
flush sample once the tap has been allowed to run to drain for several
minutes. What sampling protocols are employed in your facilities and are
positive results common? "
