Question 854 July 2016

EMF Regulations - TIF welding of Al exceeding Action levels

We have hit a potential problem with welding aluminium with TIG in AC mode. We have modelled using RMS values and have got assessments back that indicated Actions Levels could be exceeded with current above 130A. We are carrying out some direct monitoring under test conditions as opposed to modelling but in the interim I am interested if other members are having similar problems with TIG welding of Aluminium or similar welding operations, exceeding Action Levels, if so what action have they taken?
